| Mr. Macfarlane specializes in the use of GIS and digital photogrammetry to assess land-use issues. His Master's Thesis Research used aerial photography and satellite imagery within a GIS to investigate vegetation change related to livestock grazing over a 151-year period. Mr. Macfarlane's work experience includes a wide spectrum of GIS and photogrammetry applications including, resource management planning, wildlife habitat restoration, vegetation analyses, wetland mitigation planning, riparian habitat mapping, urban planning and the creation of orthophotography and digital terrain models. Much of his photogrammetric and cartographic work has been published in professional papers and government agency reports. Mr. Macfarlane's computer, software, programming, and GPS expertise include: UNIX, and Windows operating platforms; ESRI ARC/INFO, ArcView, and ArcGIS geographic information systems; ERDAS Imagine 8.6 and OrthoMax and OrthoBASE Pro image processing utilities; AML and Avenue programming languages; various Trimble global positioning systems
